Thomas A. McCarter
Founder & Managing Partner
Thomas McCarter is a 1978 graduate of the University of Miami and 1981 graduate of the Seton Hall University School of Law. Immediately after graduation Mr. McCarter worked as a defense attorney for approximately three years for The Law Offices of Fred Theemling, retired judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, the managing attorney for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. Since calendar year 1985 Mr. McCarter has been engaged in the private practice of law as a plaintiff’s attorney representing victims of car accidents, fall down incidents and workers compensation claimants. He is currently the owner of a law practice that consists of four trial attorneys and eight paralegals/secretaries. Mr. McCarter’s law practice is now 100% devoted to representation of persons who are victims of the negligence of the operators of motor vehicles in automobile collisions, the owners of properties with defective conditions which cause slip and fall and trip and fall accidents and the owners of factories and other establishments in which people sustain personal injuries in the course of their employment. He is a member of the Bergen County Bar Association and the New Jersey Association of Justice.
Lawrence H. Madnick

Lawrence Madnick, born and raised in Fort Lee, New Jersey has been an associate attorney with Thomas A. McCarter since 1994. Lawrence Madnick exclusively represents clients injured in motor vehicle accidents, premises liability accidents, workers’ compensation accidents and no-fault (PIP) arbitration. Lawrence Madnick is a graduate of Montclair State College where he majored in economics and is a graduate of New York Law School. He is admitted to both the New Jersey, and New York State Bars as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey since 1992. He is also a proud member of the New Jersey Association for Justice and has been a court appointed arbitrator in the non-binding arbitration program. Lawrence Madnick currently resides in Fair Lawn, New Jersey with his beautiful wife.
Stephen G. Mayhew
Attorney
Stephen G. Mayhew became an associate of Thomas A. McCarter, PC, Attorneys at Law in 2004. Mr. Mayhew works on the personal injury side of the practice, where cases are litigated in New Jersey Superior Court, Civil Law Division, in various counties, and NJ Federal District Court. Mr. Mayhew also has extensive experience representing people in Municipal Court, and has appeared in approximately 43 local municipal courts throughout New Jersey. Stephen Mayhew graduated from the University of Vermont in 1991, with a B.A. in Political Science, a minor in Philosophy and is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law. Mr. Mayhew is licensed to practice before the State courts of New Jersey and the United States Federal Courts, including the District of New Jersey. In July, 2008, he was admitted to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2011, the Supreme Court of New Jersey designated Mr. Mayhew as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney. He is a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice, and the Bergen County Bar Assn. Mr. Mayhew is married and has two sons. Without the support of his family, none of this would have been possible.
Paul Soon
Attorney
Paul Soon is an associate at the Law Office of Thomas McCarter. He has been with the firm since 2018. Paul Soon specializes in discovery and motion practice in the New Jersey Superior Court system. Mr. Soon is a graduate of the College of New Jersey with a bachelor’s of science in biology. He obtained his law degree from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, NJ. Mr. Soon is a member of the New Jersey Associate for Justice and is proud to represent personal injury victims. Mr. Soon was born and raised in Bloomfield, NJ in Essex County, and currently resides in Wayne, NJ with his lovely wife and two daughters.
